Lighthouse Assembly of Believers

"See the light.  Be the light."

The Bible

We believe the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and doctrine. 2 Timothy 3:16

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world. Genesis 1:26

God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three persons:  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.  Psalm 90:2

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father.  Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Son as God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  The Christian seeks daily to live under His control.  He gives every believer gifts to be used in ministry to other Christians and to the world.  1 Corinthians 12:13

Salvation

We believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again. Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6, John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26

Eternal Security
Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.  It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.  John 10:28-29; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:12

Communion

We believe in the regular taking of Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.  Luke 22:17-20

Growing Relationship

We believe every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God's Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.  Philippians 3:12-15
